Mid August is an ideal time to accept a slightly longer challenge! The 5th Annual Oshkosh Triathlon offers triathletes an Olympic distance for those who want to graduate from a Sprint. Lake Winneconne offers warm water and just a five foot depth, making it safe for triathletes of all skill levels. The spacious park is easy to access and has plenty of parking.

8:30 a.m. Pre Race Kids Clinic for participants and parents
9:00 a.m.- KIDS' START
11:00 a.m. - 5 p.m. - Adult Registration and Packet Pick-up
12:00 p.m. - Course Talk
1:00 p.m. - Open Water Swim
2:00 p.m. - Course Talk
3:00 p.m. - "Nutrition for Endurance Athletes" - Jason Wellman, GNC

Kids Event
Don't forget about the KIDS TRIATHLON on Saturday August 7. All participants receive a t-shirt, goody bag, food and fun after the event. Awards given to each age.

    Sprint: 1/4 mile swim, 15 mile bike, 3.1 mile run

THE COURSE
Swim

Out and back swim will be in Lake Winneconne.  Buoys will serve as a guide line with a huge balloon arch at the finish.  Average water temperature is 73 degrees.
Bike
The bike course goes out along the lake at first.  It then heads north and east on quiet country roads.  There are a few small hills.  Roads are well paved.  Elevation map is posted.
Run
Run goes through a residential area in Winneconne then heads out onto quiet, country roads and back.  Flat and fast course.

WHAT MIDWEST SPORTS EVENTS PROVIDES
We provide technically sound, safe, and exciting events.  Participants receive a DRI WICK SHIRT, goody bag, chip timing, food and fun after the event.  There will also be plenty of water and Gatorade stations along the run course.

Bike racks will have your race number and wave you start in.  Each mile on the run courses will be marked, and every five miles on the bike.  All courses will have highly visible signage for each turn.  The long bike course will have aid stations. 

Sign up early!  The wave you are in is a first come first serve basis and is determined on how early you register.

AWARDS
Awards will be given to the first overall female and male winners.  Age group awards will be given to the top 3 male and female in 5 year increments:  14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95 and up. Awards to the top overall 3 relay teams, Athena and Clydesdale.  Athena and Clydesdale division is scored separately from age groups and is optional to enter.  Athena is female 150lbs+ and Clydesdale is male 200lbs+.

EVENT RULES AND INFORMATION
1. NO MP3 players, IPODs, radios or headphones allowed on the bike course.
2. Wetsuits may be worn.
3. There is no time limit for the event.
4. Helmets and swim caps are mandatory.
5. Drafting is not permitted. Penalties will be enforced for drafting.
6. Please remove all equipment from the transition area after the Awards Ceremony. 
7. Gear N' Up has a bike safety check Friday and morning of the event. (optional)
8. Chip Pick-Up is the morning of the event during the registration times. 
9. To get your chip, you must have your bib number. Lost timing chips are
    the responsibility of the participant. Timing company charges $50.
10.Transition will close 15 minutes prior to the start of the event, at 6:45 a.m.
11.We do not give refunds this includes no refunds due to weather, water conditions, etc... nor do we transfer fees from one race to another.


*Note: Midwest Sports Events has an unmarked security guard watching Transition at all times to protect and secure your equipment during the event. We do need all bikes removed after the award ceremony so our staff can begin tear down.

VOLUNTEER
Get a front row seat as a volunteer!  Volunteers are needed throughout the event to help with participant body marking, directing athletes on and off the course, and handing out water and food.  All volunteers receive a t-shirt, food during the race and a big thank you!!!
