Sweden is closer than you think! The 5th Annual Triathlon will again feature the friendly Swedish communities of the Chisago Lakes Area. Paradise Park offers an eagle eye’s view of the swim course. The Swedish influence abounds throughout the event with participants finishing under the Swedish flag, enjoying pancakes and ice cream.

Awards will be given to the first overall female and male winners of the Half Ironman.
Over $5500 in prize money awarded to the top F/M winners:

Unique Swedish Glass awards will be given to the top 3 male
and female in 5 year increments: 14 and under, 15-19,
20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59,
60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95 and up.
Awards to the top overall 3 relay teams, Athena and
Clydesdale. Medals are awarded to the Half finishers.

THE COURSE
Swim
The swim is at beautiful Paradise Beach/Chuckie Lundquist Park in Chisago Lake. Plenty of buoys will be available to rest if needed and a balloon arch as the guide for the finish point.
Bike
NEW ROADS! The bike course is new: few rollers, mainly flat. The run goes through charming residential streets with community support and several water stations.
Run
Both run courses follow residential roads. Roads are well kept and flat.
QUICK BIKE SAFETY CHECK CAN BE DONE AT FOREST CYCLE AND SKATE TENT the morning of the event. Fairview Lakes Health Services will be providing excellent medical coverage for the weekend. We will have massage therapists on hand for the Half Ironman.

WHAT MIDWEST SPORTS EVENTS PROVIDES
We provide technically sound, safe, and exciting events. Participants receive a DRI WICK SHIRT, goody bag, chip timing, food and fun after the event.
Bike racks will have your race number and wave you start in. The courses have highly visible signage for each turn: bike course marked every 5 miles and run course each mile. There will be plenty of water and Gatorade stations. The Half will also have Hammer gel, fruit and carbs for the run and bottle exchanges for the bike.

1. NO MP3 players, IPODs, radios or headphones allowed on the bike course.
2. Wetsuits may be worn.
3. There is no time limit for the event.
4. Helmets and swim caps are mandatory.
5. Drafting and littering are not permitted. Penalties will be enforced for both.
6. Please remove all equipment from the transition area after the Awards Ceremony.
7. Bike safety check Saturday and morning of the event. (optional)
8. Chip Pick-Up is the morning of the event during the registration times.
9. To get your chip, you must have your bib number. Lost timing chips are
the responsibility of the participant. Timing company charges $50.
10.Athena and
Clydesdale optional. Athena is 150 lbs.+ Clydesdale 200lbs. +
11.Transition closes 15 minutes prior to the start of the event, 6:45 a.m. SHARP!
12.We
do not give
refunds this includes no
refunds due to weather, water conditions, etc...
nor do we transfer fees from one race to another.
13. All participants must provide an email address
in order for the event organizers to contact you in the
event of a change to the race.
14. Course Closes at 8 hrs. 40 minutes after last half
wave starts.
*Note: Midwest Sports Events has an unmarked security guard watching Transition at all times to protect and secure your equipment during the event. We do need all bikes removed after the award ceremony so our staff can begin tear down.
VOLUNTEER
Get a front row seat as a volunteer! Volunteers are needed throughout the event to help with participant body marking, directing athletes on and off the course, and handing out water and food. All volunteers receive a t-shirt, food during the race and a big thank you!!!
