Earn Free Entries by Registering for any 5 Events throughout the Year

Midwest Sports Events has the "5 STAR Series" name for a reason. We work hard to maintain the highest of standards such as: immediate results, low cost entry fees, computer chip timing, unique awards, numbered bike racks, small controlled waves, free training clinics, course talks, dri wick shirts, plenty of food and fun. The 5 STAR Series is for those who simply just want to “get fit” and have fun competing at each event as
well as throughout the year. Even if you are not interested about being ranked and winning prizes at the end of the year, this is a perfect opportunity for BIG SAVINGS on race entry fees.

This Series began in 2005 and started with just 5 events, mostly in the summer months. Since then we have grown to over 13 events consisting of 5k’s, 15k’s, half marathons,
bike races, triathlons and duathlons. To better serve our participants who want to compete all year long, we are extending the 5 STAR Series to include all of our events. Those who do 5 events will be eligible for a beautiful ORBEA bike. Plus all participants that finish 5 events will receive a high quality Louis Garneau Bike Jersey.
Here is how you can earn free entries!
  • Pay for any 5 Midwest Sports Events and receive the sixth entry for free.
  • If you pay for 8 events you will receive 2 entries for free.
  • If you pay for 10 events you receive 3 events for free.
How the 5 STAR Series is scored
  1. You must do a minimum of 5 events to be ranked.
  2. Choose any distance in any event, i.e., a run, duathlon, triathlon or bike race.
  3. We take your 5 best age placements from events finished.  We then total the 5 best placements to determine your 5 STAR Series score.
  4. Prizes are awarded to the top 3 athletes in each age group with the best score.
  5. Athlete birthdays from 5/11-1/12 which affect an age group are moved to the next age group.
  6. You can register for all the events at one time by filling out the 5 STAR series form.
  7. You can also join the series as you register for each event. Once you reach the number to earn a free entry, just send it in. We are tracking the number of events each athletes does.

Runners to Collect Shoes and Shirts for Haiti this Saturday

The Valentine Run this Saturday wants your shoes and t-shirts! We are partnering with SOIL in Action, a non-profit organization to provide assistance to the Haitians who have been displaced by last week’s earthquake. At this time, money is much needed to begin disaster relief. However, items such as shoes and shirts will be in need in the next few months. We ask that you please bring your old shoes and shirts (any condition, any type) to the Seroogy’s Valentine Run/Walk on February 6, 2010, from 7 a.m. – 11 a.m. The donation boxes for these items will be across the street from Seroogy’s Chocolates at New Life Church.
